Type 1 diabetes intervention clusters in resource-limited settings: a systematic review and economic evaluation
More than 9 million people live with type 1 diabetes worldwide, with the greatest burden falling on resource-limited settings where access to quality care remains challenging. While most evidence has focused on individual interventions, less is known about how combinations of interventions can improve outcomes and support health system decision-making. This study systematically reviewed the evidence, developed clusters of interventions through an international Delphi process involving experts and people with lived experience, and assessed their cost-effectiveness using a WHO-CHOICE microsimulation model. The findings aim to support countries in prioritizing investments in type 1 diabetes care according to their local context and implementation capacity.
